  • AMED - Allied & Complementary Medicine covers a selection of journals in complementary medicine, palliative care, and several professions allied to medicine
  • BioMed Central - A collection of nursing and health related databases covering worldwide research in medical and nursing fields.
  • BMJ Journals Online - A collection of full text journals published by the British Medical Journal.
  • CINAHL Complete - CINAHL Complete is the authoritative resource for nursing and allied health professionals, students, educators and researchers.
  • Cochrane Library - includes The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews - evidence based systematic reviews providing high quality information to people providing and receiving care and those responsible for research, teaching, funding and administration at all levels.
  • Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) - Used by clinicians and researchers to diagnose and classify mental disorders. Our subscription includes access to DSM-5, DSM-5 Clinical Cases, and the DSM-5 Handbook of Differential Diagnosis.
  • Embase - Embase is a major biomedical and pharmaceutical database, indexing over 3,500 journals.
  • Maternity and Infant Care - Abstracts to journal articles from over 550 international English language journals, books, and grey literature relating to pregnancy, labour, birth, postnatal care, and neonatal care and the first year of an infant’s life.
  • Medicines Complete - Contains some of the world's leading drug and healthcare reference sources.
  • Medline (with Full-Text) - Provides information from the fields of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Veterinary medicine, Allied health and pre-clinical sciences.
  • Nursing & Allied Health Database - covering nursing, allied health, alternative and complementary medicine, and much more.
  • Ovid - Key provider of Nursing Resources to the NHS and nursing schools.
  • The Practising Midwife (All4Maternity) - offers comprehensive coverage of issues affecting midwives at every stage of their professional lives. It provides its readers with opportunities to develop their skills and refresh their knowledge, to prepare for registration, professional appraisal and revalidation.
  • PsycARTICLES - A database of full-text articles from 56 journals published by the American Psychological Association.
  • PsycINFO - American Psychological Association’s (APA) resource for abstracts of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations.
  • Public Health Database- Covers nutrition, physical fitness and hygiene, population studies,social services and welfare, statistics and more.
  • RCNi Journals - A collection of Royal College of Nursing journals which provide health professionals with the latest developments impacting nursing, including changes in policy, practice and research. Please note that Evidence Based Nursing is not included in this collection.

  • Acland's Anatomy - Acland's Video Atlas of Human Anatomy
  • BMJ Best Practice - BMJ Best Practice is a decision support tool for use at the point of care. It contains thousands of diagnosis and diagnostic tests, diagnostic and treatment guidelines, over 200 patient information leaflets, and provides medical calculators covering equations, decision trees, converters and optimisers.
  • HMIC (Health Management Information Consortium) -  includes the database of the Department of Health's Library and Information Services and the King’s Fund Information and Library Service database. Together they contain in excess of 240,000 records relating to health and social care management information mostly with a UK focus.
  • Primal Pictures (Anatomy.tv) - Features 3D computer graphic models of human anatomy, dissection and radiology slides, animations and movie clips of biomechanics and surgical procedures.
  • SN@P Numeracy Support - Healthcare students can access free resources on SN@P to help improve numeracy skills and boost confidence:
