Finding the full-text of journal articles

Use the Journal Finder if you have a reference for a specific journal article, or browse through our subscriptions.

If you still cannot locate the full text, you can order the article you need from our Inter-Library Loans Service.

Recommended Resources for Education

  • Education Database provides access to over 800 education journals in full text.  You can also cross search with the Australian Education Index.
  • British Education Index covers aspects of educational policy and administration, evaluation and assessment, technology and special educational needs.
  • Child Development & Adolescent Studies covers literature on the growth and development of children through to the age of 21.
  • Education Abstracts features adult education, comparative education, government funding, higher education, school administration and teacher evaluation.
  • Educational Administration Abstracts includes bibliographic records covering areas related to educational administration, including educational leadership, educational management, educational research.
  • ERIC (Education Resources Information Center) provides access to education literature to support the use of educational research and information to improve practice in learning, teaching, educational decision-making and research.

  • Academic Search Complete full text database of over 6000 journals
  • Taylor and Francis Online Library includes British Journal of Educational Studies, Early Years, Comparative Education and The Journal of Education Policy.
  • Science Direct 1500 scientific, technical and medical full text journals.
  • Emerald Management Premier includes History of Education Review, Interactive Technology and Smart Education and Studies in Educational Ethnography.
  • Social Policy and Practice database of social policy materials from 1890-present, including information on public health, social care, children, and families.
  • Project Muse  subject areas include: literature, history, cultural studies, education, politics, gender studies, economics and more.
  • SocINDEX with Full Text sociology research database encompassing the broad spectrum of sociological study
  • PsycINFO journal articles, reports, books and dissertations in psychology and related disciplines.

  • Nexis - sources include The Times Educational Supplement, The Times Higher Education Supplement, to find out if a particular title is included within the Nexis database, use the Sources tab on the search page.

Conference Proceedings.

  • Zetoc - provides access to the British Library's Electronic Table of Contents of current journals and conference proceedings.

P-E-P Archive (Psychoanalytic Electronic Publishing).

  • P-E-P Archive is a digital archive of many of the major works of psychoanalysis, includes the complete works of Sigmund Freud, classic texts such as John Bowlby’s Attachment and Loss.
