Refugee week runs from 17 - 22 June 2019 and focuses on Stories of Migration, with a theme of You, me and those who came before.
UCLan, alongside many other organisations including Preston Black History group and Preston City of Sanctuary, are hosting a range of free* activities to support Refugee week. There are workshops, film screenings, lectures, art exhibitions, craft markets and poetry - something for everyone.
Find out more about the experiences of forced migrants, in a talk from a representative of the British Red Cross.
There will be a free film screening of Human Flow, an epic film journey led by the internationally renowned artist Ai Weiwei. Amnesty International will deliver workshops on 70 years since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and UCLan lecturers Dr Raphael Hoermann and David Knight are running sessions on Windrush.
There's lots going on so come along and join in with supporting Refugee Week - visit the Preston City of Sanctuary website: https://preston.cityofsanctuary.org/events-2 and book your place via Eventbrite.
