Come and take part in the University’s annual anti-violence event as part of the One Billion and Rising campaign.
The University is once again bringing people together to dance, sing and take a stand to demand an end to violence against women and girls. The event will take place on Valentine’s Day, Friday 14 February, between 12.30pm and 1.30pm in Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre.
Dancing is optional but the University has invited dance instructor and World Salsa dance champion, Phil Kaila, as well as Salsa Northwest, to deliver this year’s routine. If you don’t fancy dancing, please come along and show your support anyway.
This year is the seventh One Billion Rising taking place in Lancashire. It has been organised with Creative Communities Group UK after statistics revealed that over 4,000 women and girls aged between 16 and 59 in Preston have suffered from domestic violence in the past year.
