How do I access Blackboard on a computer at UCLan Cyprus?
Once you have logged on to the UCLan Cyprus network you can go to the "The Student Portal". This will take you straight to your Blackboard page.
Please note: when you log out of Blackboard you will see the Welcome/Login page. If you want to login again then you need to use your UCLan Cyprus network username and password.
Can I access Blackboard when away from UCLan Cyprus (off campus)?
Yes, you can login via the "Student" button on the main UCLan Cyprus homepage. See the Logging into Blackboard Off Campus guide.
I am having problems logging into Blackboard - what am I doing wrong?
You may not be entering the correct username and password. Remember that passwords are case sensitive.
Students can reset their UCLan network password if necessary.
How do I change my password?
You can change your password on the following web page whether you are on or off campus: https://webutilities.uclan.ac.uk/WebFormPwdChange.aspx
Alternatively if you are logged into a UCLan PC you can change your password by press on keyboard Ctrl+Alt+Del and choose Change a Password.
Please note: when you change your Blackboard password it will change for other UCLan Cyprus services - e.g. the UCLan Cyprus network and Remote Access.
We are aware that there is currently an issue with opening Microsoft Office documents in eLearn Blackboard – e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint if you are using Internet Explorer 9 (IE9). This issue is related to IE9 not being compatible with the version of eLearn (Blackboard) in use at UCLan. Until this problem is resolved, we recommend that you use one of the alternative browsers: Mozilla Firefox is available from the Start>All Programs menu and you can install Google Chrome using Install a Program from the Network.
The Blackboard Support Site for Students offers a substantial amount of information to help you find your way around Blackboard. We have picked out a selection of the top issues which you may find useful below.
Please note: There are a number of these guides that are located within the LIS Resource Centre on Sharepoint. If you wish to access the files from a non-UCLan computer you will need to login to SharePoint using your FULL email address when you are prompted to do so. You should only need to do this once during your session.
If you are having problems logging into eLearn Blackboard and have checked the information on the eLearn Blackboard Support Site then you can contact Cyprus Library for help.
If you cannot see your module listed in the Course List or you are having trouble accessing materials within the module space you will need to ask help from your module tutor.
