*Please note that at peak times the Security team may not be able to add swipe access instantly and you may be required to leave your ID card with them for a few hours.

Bike lockers are situated at the following buildings: Vernon, Media Factory, Maudland, Brook, Greenbank, Harrington, Ironworks, Edward and the Library. These lockers can be hired for £50 per year or £30 for 2 semesters and a £50 deposit is also required.
The University has a bike lock scheme to keep bikes safer by providing an affordable, quality lock. The scheme enables all current UCLan staff and student cyclists to access good quality ‘Gold Sold Secure’ D-locks by Master Lock for only £18.50 (RRP £40).
Locks can be purchased from The <i> in the Library.
A large number of bicycles are parked on campus either in cycle compounds, at bicycle stands and at various locations throughout the University.
The purpose of the Abandoned Bike Procedure is to reduce the number of abandoned bicycles and thefts across the University estate. This will create space for regular users to secure their bicycles and deter thieves.
We work in partnership with Lancashire Constabulary to deliver a consistent and integrated approach to identify, tag, remove and recycle abandoned/unsecured bicycles. Download or view our Abandoned or Insecure Bike Procedure here.
Bicycles which are found by UCLan Staff/Lancashire Constabulary to be unsecured or insufficiently secured will be locked with a secure D Lock and tagged in order to deter thieves/vandals, if the bike is not claimed within 28 days it will be removed by FM Waste and Recycling Services and put into storage for a further 28 days. During this period, if the owner wishes to reclaim their bike they should contact. The Sustainable Travel Coordinator (x2052) or out of hours UCLan Security (x2068) can be contacted to unlock the bike.
Showers are available for cyclists, the latest shower location list is available in excel format.
