Susan has an extensive background in Training Consultancy, and has been a qualified Social Worker for the past 7 years. She has worked as an Emotional Health Practitioner in Bolton, and an experienced Project Manager. Susan currently teaches on a number of courses related to Children and Families.

Full Profile

Susan came to the University on a fixed-term contract in 2004, teaching on the Community and Citizenship course, including the Social Work Masters course. With an expertise in supervision skills, Susan then became a training consultant for a number of years in Manchester, developing bespoke training contracts and programmes for external organizations linked to Mental Health, communicating and working with young people, Supervision Skills in the workplace. Susan returned to the university in 2011, using her expertise in Children and Families to offer a range of modules.


2006 & 2011 Caring for people affected by Stroke Mapping exercise for the Stroke Association to accredit their training programme to NVQ level 2 & 3 Health & Social Care standards and the new QCF Health & Social care (Adults)

External Activities

Volunteer Counsellor – The Gap (Connexions), Bolton. Providing individual therapeutic counselling session each week for young people aged 13 – 19.
