Simon is a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health and Practice within the School of Nursing. He teaches across pre-registration BSc and MSc nursing programmes and post graduate MSc Personality Disorder and MSc Child and Adolescent Mental Health courses. Simon is registered on the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Mental Health Nurse and Teacher. He is a Fellow of the Higher education Academy.

Full Profile

Simon Joined the University in 2016 as a Lecturer in Mental Health and Practice. Prior to his appointment at the University Simon worked in Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in several professional roles. He has previously worked within acute mental health inpatient services within Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust (LCFT). Simon worked as a Violence Reduction Instructor for LCFT, teaching both the physical and theoretical aspects of violence reduction, conflict resolution and continues to teach breakaway courses. His areas of interest are Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Personality Disorder[s], Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s), Meditation/Mindfulness-Based Interventions and Lifestyle Medicine.
