Renato is research active within the area of biomechanics and rehabilitation and is a visiting professor from Brazil at the Allied Health Professions Research Unit.
Graduated in Physical Therapy from the Centro Universitário de Belo Horizonte - UNI-BH - Brazil (2004), Specialization in Geriatrics and Gerontology at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais - UFMG - Department of Physical Therapy - Brazil (2006), Master in Science of Rehabilitation from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais - UFMG - Department of Physical Therapy - Brazil (2008) and Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais - UFMG - Department of Mechanical Engineering - Brazil (2013). Renato is currently Adjunct Professor at the Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri – UFVJM – Brazil and visiting professor at Allied Health Professions Research Unit at UCLan. He has experience in Physical Therapy, with an emphasis in Gerontology, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Ergonomics and Biomechanics, acting on the following topics: Disorders of Human Movement, Biomechanics of Physiological and Pathological Gait, Geriatrics and Gerontology, Ergonomics, Prosthetics and Orthotics.
