My background is that of a GP for the last 30 years in North Manchester. Prior to my retirement from full time practice in 2016, I was a GP Trainer and undergraduate community based medical student tutor. I remain a GP Appraiser and Sessional GP.  I completed an MSc in General Practice at UCLan in 2016.

Full Profile

I qualified in Medicine, MB ChB, from Manchester University in 1984, trained in the North West of England and have been a GP for 30 years. I was a GP Trainer, Appraiser and undergraduate community based medical student tutor for much of that time. I have variously worked running a community based drug clinic, as a Medical Assessor for the Department of Work and Pensions, in Medico-Legal work and as a Medical Advisor for the Independent Tribunal Service. I completed my MSc in General Practice at UCLan in 2016. Following my retirement from full time practice in 2016, I taught ad hoc on the Physician Associate and MBBS courses at UCLan before taking up a permanent post as a Clinical Senior Lecturer on the PA course in 2018.  I continue to practise as a Sessional GP and GP Appraiser.
