Louise is Course Leader for the MPharm programme (September 2016 entry onwards) and Course Leader for the Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice. She is also Pre-registration Coordinator for the MPharm students, and regularly practises as a Community Pharmacist.

Louise graduated in Pharmacy from Liverpool John Moores University in 1997 and started a career as a pharmacist with Boots The Chemists, holding a variety of pharmacist positions, before becoming Pharmacy Manager and then Store Manager.
In 2002 she was appointed as Boots Teacher Practitioner at Liverpool John Moores University. This role combined university teaching with training within Boots for summer students, pre-registration students, accuracy checking technicians and home and overseas pharmacists.
She completed her Clinical Diploma (De Montfort University) in 2003.
In 2008 she joined UCLan as Teacher Practitioner, combining university work with regular practice as a community pharmacist. She led on the development of the Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice, and has been Course Leader for this programme since its first intake of students in 2010.
She gained her Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in 2011, after completing her Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.
Louise was part of the team that successfully gained the full 6 years’ accreditation from the General Pharmaceutical Council in 2016 for the MPharm programme, and is now the Course Leader for this programme (September 2016 entry onwards).
Louise is currently completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Research and Evaluation at Keele University, and hopes to follow this with a Professional Doctorate in Pharmacy.
Louise is also the pre-registration coordinator for the MPharm students at UCLan, a registration assessment question writer for the General Pharmaceutical Council, and a member of the University Peer Observation team.
