Dr Lara Momesso is a Lecturer in Asia Pacific Studies at the School of Language and Global Studies at UCLan. Dr Momesso welcomes proposals for doctoral research on Asian Pacific society and culture. She is particularly keen on proposals pertaining to Taiwan, and issues related to gender and migration in Taiwan as well as the Asia Pacific Region. 

Her research interests include contemporary migrations across the Asia Pacific region with a particular focus on marriage migration between China and Taiwan, family formation in contemporary Chinese societies, gender in the Asia Pacific region. She also is a specialist on contemporary Chinese and Taiwanese societies.

Dr Lara Momesso is a Lecturer in Asia Pacific Studies at the School of Language and Global Studies at UCLan. Dr Momesso welcomes proposals for doctoral research on Asian Pacific society and culture. She is particularly keen on proposals pertaining to Taiwan, and issues related to gender and migration in Taiwan as well as the Asia Pacific Region. 

Prior to joining UCLan, Dr Momesso was Research Fellow at the Centre for European and International Studies Research at Portsmouth University with a project on marriage migration and family formation in the context of China-Taiwan relations. This project was funded by the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange.

Dr Momesso is a Research Associate at the Centre of Taiwan Studies at SOAS (the University of London, UK), an Associate Fellow at the European Research Centre of Contemporary Taiwan (University of Tuebingen, Germany) and is an elected executive board member of the European Association of Taiwan Studies (EATS).
