Dr Temba Mudariki was involved in the teaching of genetics, statistics and biology in the school of forensics and applied sciences since 2013 before being appointed as a lecturer in medical sciences in 2017 in the school of medicine. Temba is also research active with an interest in the diagnostic pathology of brain tumours using histopathology, molecular pathology, vibrational spectroscopy and spectrometry.

Prior to joining the school of medicine Temba taught undergraduate biology and postgraduate statistics in the school of forensic and applied science. Now based at the West Cumberland Medical Education Centre (WECMEC) he is involved in the teaching of medical sciences. Temba’s research looks at the characterisation of different primary brain tumour subtypes by employing histopathology, molecular pathology and biophotonics. Temba also has experience in the application of forensic techniques such as DNA profiling in human identification, kinship analysis, and population genetics to UKAS standard 17025.
