Diane joined the University of Central Lancashire in 2018 as a lecturer in Mental Health Nursing.

Diane is also a graduate of UCLan, she completed her Diploma in Mental health nursing in 1999 and BSc (Hons) professional practice in 2011.

Full Profile

Diane has worked in a range of fields of practice within mental health nursing, these include; acute inpatient mental health nursing, mental health rehabilitation, day services and clinical treatments with a special interest in Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). Diane has been proactive in developing and supporting students on placement with a particular focus on enhancing the experience of students in the ECT environment, to help alleviate fears and to optimise the learning trajectory.

Diane continues to work in NHS clinical practice to update and maintain skills and also engages in ECT activities which include membership of the ECT Accreditation services (ECTAS) Royal college of Psychiatrists, the North West ECT lead nurse’s special interest group, and is also a specialist advisor for the Care Quality Commission CQC.
