Full Profile

Deryck worked for Lancashire Constabulary for 28 years in the Scientific Support Department and was the Head of Crime Scene Investigation immediately prior to joining the teaching staff at UCLan. At various stages of my career I was a Fingerprint Examiner, Mobile Phone Technician and Crime Scene Investigator at every level. Deryck was also the first civilian CSI in Lancashire Constabulary.

Deryck's operational experience is second to none and he has worked on a number of very high profile cases in his time, both as a CSI and latterly as a Crime Scene Manager.

Deryck was part of the UK Disaster Victim Identification team (UKDVI) on call for any mass fatality incidents anywhere in the world. He is fully trained in Bomb Scene Management and the recovery of forensic evidence from a CBRN (Chemical. Biological, Radiological or Nuclear) Incident.
