Claire is a lecturer and academic advisor for students on forensic degrees. She is lead tutor for 1st and 2nd year modules but also teaches across many other modules. She encourages and promotes opportunities to students to enhance their university experience and is passionate about employability skills.
Claire graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 2004 with a BSc (Hons) in Forensic science and Criminology, where she became interested in fraud and document analysis. Claire returned to the University in 2007 to complete a Masters Degree by Research in Document Analysis, in collaboration with the Netherlands Forensic Institute. Claire worked on a project to discriminate between paper samples using different analytical techniques including TLC, HPLC, XRF, XRD, IRMS and Raman. Whilst teaching on the forensic degree courses in the School, she continued her studies and completed a PhD in 2015 investigating the chemistry and ageing processes of inks.
