Full Profile

I have worked at UCLan for over five years and as well as being a Senior Lecturer in accounting I am the course leader for the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree.

Originally after qualifying as an ACCA accountant I worked for 5 years in the housing association sector becoming a management accountant. I then moved in teaching, and before joining UCLan spent over a decade at Edge Hill University ending up as Senior Lecturer.

During this time I have carried out a number of roles and have experience as: an external examiner -for masters programmes; an external panel expert in validations in the UK and Hong Kong; been an internal panel member at a number of internal validations –in business and accounting.

I completed a part time PhD at Sheffield University Management School, bringing together my interest in accounting and the environment. I have research interests in the following areas: social and environmental accounting; the accounting profession; audit quality; pedagogy and sustainability. I have written an on-line introductory undergraduate book on social and environmental accounting and am working on a number of research papers. I have presented at a number of conferences including at BAFA.

I have been the chair of the Lancashire and Cumbria ACCA from 2018, and am a member of BAFA.

Please do contact me if you would like to talk to me about accounting programmes at UCLan, my research interests and projects, my role as an Chair of the local ACCA panel or ambassador.
