Bob has worked with the Centre for Volunteering and Community Leadership in various roles and capacities since 2004. In that time he has developed small-scale community based engagement projects into international collaborative research opportunities. He has worked on active research based engagement in places that include Nepal, Indonesia, China, India and Mongolia. In this time he has been able to inform and initiate community based learning and development research and practice on a variety of themes.
Presently, Bob is a lecturer on Foundation, BA (Hons) degree and Masters level modules of the Community Leadership courses, and acts as the academic advisor for the MA students. Also, in his role as Positive Environments Project Coordinator he initiates innovative community engagement projects around the North west.
Previously, Bob has been part of many national and international boards and committees on volunteering and has gained over 14 years of experience working in various roles within the voluntary and third sector.
Now, as a Doctoral Candidate with one research paper published and many more in the pipeline, Bob is actively developing research projects concerned with environmental education, integration of refugees and asylum seekers into communities, social isolation and mental health awareness.
