Alison was a pre-registration nursing student at UCLAN and worked for the NHS for 15 years before becoming a lecturer with the Adult Pre-Registration nursing team in February 2019.  Her background is District Nursing, School Nursing and CAMHS/Learning Disability Children’s Nursing.

Alison is a member of the Nursing & Midwifery Council.

Full Profile

Alison worked as an Occupational Therapy Assistant with the NHS before gaining a seconded position to study Adult Nursing at UCLAN. On qualification she worked on community as a district nurse and then as a community nurse with the Children & Families Team.  Alison returned to UCLAN to study for the BSc Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nurse) in 2016 and then worked as a practitioner with the CAMHS/Children’s Learning Disability team before joining the UCLAN nursing lecturing team at the beginning of 2019.

Alison’s passion is community nursing and she is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and experience with nursing students.  She will be commencing an Academic Practice Apprenticeship in September 2019 and hopes to complete her Masters qualification after that.
