Aengus Kelly qualified as a dentist in Trinity College Dublin in 1994, and has worked in general practice dentistry in Ireland and the UK for over twenty years. His clinical interests are in communication in dentistry and dental anxiety, and his PhD was in the area of clinical communication in dentistry. He took up a full time teaching role at UCLan in 2016, and teaches clinical communication skills, professionalism, research and academic skills, teaching and learning in healthcare.

Research Activities

Research interests: health communication, online learning in healthcare, educational research, resilience,  and clinical decision-making.

Current Research: Triadic communication, Dental education (Online learning, Flipped learning, Resilience), Clinical Decision-making (Supervising MSc), the Representation of cancer awareness campaigns in the print media (Director of Studies, PhD)
