UCLan offers a variety of activities for students in Further Education, Secondary and Primary schools, either on campus or in schools and colleges, as well as providing information and support for teachers and careers advisers. Several specialist teams work with different student groups.
Our School and College Liaison team is committed to working alongside schools, academies, free schools, sixth forms, further education colleges and University Technical Colleges (UTCs) to support the progression of students to higher education. We aim to give potential students the information they need to make important choices about their university education. Please contact us if you would like a member of our outreach team to attend your careers event or parents’ evening.

We support schools and colleges in low participation areas, raising aspiration and ensuring equality of access: we offer tailored programmes of activity to support care leavers, as well as projects for high school pupils, such as Junior University.
UCLan understands the vital role that teachers, parents and guardians play in advising students about their progression options and we are keen to do all we can to support them in this process. We provide support for teachers and parents in a variety of ways to help guide the decisions young people make about higher education. Download our Parents, Carers and Supporters guide(.pdf, 1.5MB)
UCLan works with primary school children to inspire them and introduce a wide range of subjects, opening their eyes to a world of opportunities ahead of them. For further information please contact our Engagement and Access Team on firstname.lastname@example.org
The Young Scientist Centre is a joint enterprise with the Royal Institution; it is a state-of-the-art laboratory used to deliver interactive workshops, allowing young people to creatively explore science. It is the first national branch of the YSC outside of London and it is a beacon for science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) in Lancashire. We aim to provide a facility that will help inspire and engage the scientists and engineers of the future.
