Health Courses

Paramedic students

We are a large provider of multi-professional healthcare education, training and development, offering a range of taught undergraduate and postgraduate modular-based courses, research degrees and credit recognition. The School develops its portfolio collaboratively with partners in response to national policy and local requirements and needs, providing professional courses, short courses and continuing professional development. The focus is on students developing evidence-based knowledge, skills and person-centred values in preparation for employment.

Our Courses

We promote student centred learning. That means that we encourage students to become independent learners through a variety of strategies including lectures, group discussions, workshops, seminars and the use of the University’s skills laboratories and therapy clinic. Students will also have the opportunity to undertake work placements to enhance their experience and help to develop new skills. These skills will be recorded in a Skills Log which can be a useful record of development upon seeking employment.

The School of Health Sciences offers courses in: Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, Paramedic Practice, Operating Department Practice, Health Informatics, and Acute and Emergency Care.

We have also developed an annual programme of short Health and Wellbeing CPD workshops taking place over either a half day or a full day as well as our Post Qualifying Framework (PQF) courses.
