The University has introduced an English Language Support Service to help assist with the language needs of International and European University students. There are a range of opportunities to improve both academic and general English with taught yearlong modules starting in September, and regular one-to-one tutorials and workshops throughout the year.
As well as this, the UCLan TESOL team (Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages) offers General English classes supported by trainee teachers under supervision, which are available to members of the public as well as students.

The Language Academy offers English Language Support designed to address specific issues you may be having with use of English in an academic setting.
All events are supported by a team specialist academics of English Language who are trained to assess and help with your personal language needs.
Choose to study an English Language module to improve your skills throughout the academic year*. Yearlong modules available:

Tutorials are a twenty-minute session of personalised English Language Support with one of the Language Academy's expert Academic English tutors. Tell us what you need help with and we will tailor our support.
PLEASE NOTE: Tutorials are requested by referral on Starfish, either by a course tutor or self-referral. For more information contact the Language Academy via email at email@example.com.
The workshops are themed, focusing on particular language skills that you will need to improve your Writing and Speaking in assignments. Workshops are available for students only, an up to date timetable is available on the Student Support Site. There is no need to enrol or register! Attend any of the sessions as much as you like across the academic year.
