Centre for Volunteering and Community Leadership

The Centre for Volunteering and Community Leadership (CVCL) has gained a reputation for designing and delivering world class courses, projects and volunteering opportunities in the UK and internationally.

UCLan Centre for Volunteering is noted for its work in developing community cohesion and active citizenship projects. The Centre works across a number of key areas and invites all students to volunteer.

Volunteering can help develop existing skills and help to gain new skills, skills which employers are looking for, it is also a way for you to socialise, meet new people and improve your student experience whilst you are studying.

In some instances, volunteering is seen as doing something for free, however, volunteering may lead to part time paid position or full-time paid position within an organisation.

Volunteering with an organisation can help you to identify your key strengths and areas of improvement. Whilst volunteering, you may show commitment, positive attitude, resilience and innovative thinking which the employer may value dearly.

UCLan Centre for Volunteering and Community Leadership work with over 200 organisations across the country and have over 500 voluntary opportunities for students to get involved in, we work with the third sector voluntary organisations, charities and not for profit organisations.

There are voluntary opportunities relating to Finance, Law, Business, Computing, Social work, Sports, Media, Events management and many more.
