Mobilising communities and building resilience and capacity for better health and wellbeing in Lancashire

This work focused on developing and supporting the system-wide mobilisation of communities and building resilience and capacity for better health and wellbeing across Lancashire (entitled ‘Living Well, Living Better’) – to move towards a sustainable ‘population health system’ and ensure future sustainability.

The specific aims were:

• to undertake a critical appraisal of the current system of engagement between the VCFS and public sector
• to develop a strategic framework around a cross-sector approach to maximise the potential of the VCFS relationship with the public sector on a more sustainable footprint

This project focused on key stakeholders at a pan-regional level (including LCC, Third Sector Lancashire, One Lancashire and key delivery organisations). It was also informed by pilot work conducted in Rossendale West and Chorley Central. The strategic framework developed from the work was unveiled at a public event at UCLan in May 2018.
