Printmaking, ceramics and installation exhibition opens to the public

A free public exhibition featuring print work, ceramics and installations has opened at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

‘Outcome’ is an exhibition by eight professional artists that have spent the last year undertaking residencies in the Artlab Contemporary Printmaking Studios and the Silicate Research Unit based within the University.

Visitors to the exhibition in the PR1’s Gallery can expect to see the results of a years’ worth of exploration and investigation as each artist has grappled with new methodologies.

Artist Jane Elizabeth Bennett said: “This will be an exciting and dynamic show that has brought together an eclectic mix of practitioners. It has been a great experience working with such a vibrant group and this really comes across in the collection of work on display."

The exhibition includes work by Artists Access to Art (AA2A) Colleges artists, Artlab and PhD Fellows. The AA2A is a national scheme hosted by 11 institutes and each year it offers postgraduate and professional artist access to University facilities and studios. The Artlab Fellowship is a contemporary Fellowship that it awarded to graduate and postgraduate students who have pushed the boundaries of contemporary printmaking during their time at UCLan and the PhD Fellowship has given potential PhD students access to academic and studio facilities in order to further their studies.

The artists exhibiting in ‘Outcome’ are; Lanty Ball, Jane Elizabeth Bennett, Tina Dempsey, Cliff Richards, Jess Rotherham, Jenny Steele, Jacqui Symons and Theresa Taylor.

The exhibition runs from Wednesday 20 December to 31 January, Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm, but will be closed from 3.00pm 22 December – 3 January during the UCLan Christmas break.
