Key note address at China Study Abroad Forum

Leading officials from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) recently presented at the China Study Abroad Forum.

Dr Malcolm McVicar, UCLan Group Chief Executive Officer and Vice-President Dr Graham Baldwin were invited by the Chinese Service Centre of Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) to give a key note address to the conference which was held in Beijing in March 2014.

The conference was attended by key officials from the Chinese Ministry of Higher Education and Deans of CSCSE training centres throughout China. The centres are dedicated to preparing students who are looking to undertake their studies overseas.

UCLan is working closely with key officials of CSCSE and Deans of their training centres to establish some dedicated routes into UCLan Schools, such as Sports, Tourism and The Outdoors, Lancashire Business School and Language, Literature and International Studies.

This builds on the work undertaken earlier in the year, when UCLan hosted a dedicated conference for senior staff from CSCSE to learn about the University and the wide range of courses on offer at the Preston campus. The event was supported by UCLan Schools as we look to increase the number of students choosing UCLan as their preferred study destination.
