University supports first festival aimed at promoting events and opportunities for business

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is supporting the first ever Lancashire Business Festival, to help promote events and increase opportunities for the businesses in the region.

Details of business events happening throughout the month will be shared on a dedicated website, bringing together as many seminars, exhibitions, conferences, workshops and awards events as possible to encourage attendance and sharing best practice.

The University is one of several organisations in the area to get behind the festival, along with BOOST, the North & Western Chamber of Commerce, MHA Moore and Smalley, Shout Network and Lancashire Business View.

Events including the Red Rose Awards, Lancashire Manufacturing Week, Lancashire Apprenticeship Expo, the Smiles Business Awards and Lancashire Business Expo have already been planned to celebrate the Lancashire Business Festival month.

Dharma Kovvuri, Dean of UCLan’s Burnley Campus, said: “This is a unique opportunity for the region and we encourage as many businesses as possible to attend events that are of interest to them, as well as letting us know of any events they are planning to host during March 2018. We can then include them in our festival programme and provide an additional vehicle for promotion of their event.

“This is an exciting year for us as UCLan is celebrating its 190th anniversary in 2018, so we’ll be utilising the Lancashire Business Festival to promote a range of exciting events we’re organising. We’re hoping to attract visitors to the festival from across the whole of the UK and maybe further afield!”
