Beatrix Campbell OBE gave guest lecture at UCLan.

An award-winning journalist, author, broadcaster, campaigner and playwright drew was a hit with guests at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

Beatrix Campbell OBE visited the Preston Campus on Wednesday 17 September as part of the University’s Distinguished Visitor Programme.

Staff and students from UCLan, in particular the School of Education and Social Science, took part in a conversation with the green activist and leading feminist around her new work, ‘End of Equality’.

The latest creation from the social commentator, who received her OBE for services to equality in Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2009, has been described as “a book that joins the dots between neoliberalism and sexism, between equal pay, war zones, the veil, The Wire, the web and welfare states…a new way of thinking about where we’re at”.
