UCLan to host Chief Constable expert lecture

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) will host the third of a series of lectures looking at the current issues faced by UK police forces.

The Chief Constable expert lecture, ‘The Hallmarks of a High performing Force’, will be taken by Mike Cunningham, who has recently been appointed at the Chief Executive of the College of Policing, having formerly been Her Majesty’s Inspector of Constabulary and Chief Constable of Staffordshire.

The aim of Mike’s talk is to give an insight into the very pertinent issues facing policing and beyond and what can be done to tackle them.

Stuart Kirby, Professor in Policing at UCLan, believes the event will appeal to a “diverse audience.”

"Chief Constable Mike Cunningham’s presentation on the hallmarks of high performing police forces is based on extensive national oversight experience."

He said: “It provides an insightful and illuminating analysis of contemporary policing, which I’m sure will prove fascinating to a diverse audience, be they students, academics, community safety practitioners or lay people.”

The lecture will take place on the Thursday 24 May in Foster Lecture Theatre 2 at 1:30pm.
