The School of Medicine & Dentistry delivers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate medical and health professional programmes training Doctors on the MBBS programme and Physician Associates on the MPAS and MPAP programmes. The School of Medicine maintains a bank of volunteer patients as a resource, also liaising with external provider of professional simulated patients to support the teaching and assessment of students.
We are seeking to appoint a Patient Coordinator Assistant to support the growing needs of patient provision across all programs. Volunteer Patients may have one or more medical conditions required for history taking and/or physical examination in teaching sessions and assessments. Patients are booked to attend sessions at all UCLan campus sites i.e. Preston, Burnley and Whitehaven, where they interact with students who learn the realities of living with medical conditions.
The post-holder will assist the Patient Coordinator, working alongside the clinical skills and clinical communication skills team within the school, to ensure appropriate patients are available to support teaching and learning on all programmes, as required.
Applicants must have prior experience of carrying out administration duties in a client care setting. They will also have a range of GCSEs, including English Language and Maths, or appropriate equivalent experiential learning.
