The BSc (Hons) in Operating Department Practice programme is recruiting a full-time lecturer for a period of 12 months to cover maternity leave. Applicants will also be considered if they express a preference to be seconded from their current employer for a period of 12 months. Applicants must be an Operating Department Practitioner registered with the HCPC or a nurse registered with the NMC. You will also need to have a first degree, (honours preferred) in a health-related subject (or working towards) and a recognised teaching qualification or willingness to undertake a University PGCE/PGDE on appointment.
Applicants must have experience of engaging with teaching and supporting learners in clinical practice and be confident of developing skills that facilitate teaching, learning and assessment activities at University. They must also be able to demonstrate that they are able to work with a high degree of independence, whilst collaborating with other members of the ODP course team.
Applicants should also be mindful of the issues that students might experience and how learners may be supported by the University and its staff.
You will ideally have experience in facilitating student learning in theory and practice and have a sound understanding of healthcare practice in the UK.
