Physician Associates (PA) are playing an increasing role in the expanding NHS work force. To facilitate this training need the UCLan School of Medicine has developed PA programmes. With increasing demand, there is a need for staff to assist in the delivery and development of these courses and all courses, at both the main Preston campus and Westlakes Campus in West Cumbria.
The School of Medicine is excited to be able to appoint a Lecturer to support the Academic Director in this development and delivery of the Master’s undergraduate and MSc postgraduate programmes in PA studies. The post holder will contribute to the ongoing development and teaching and assessment in several areas related to physician associate studies, including evidence-based medicine, clinical and communication skills as well as other disciplines.
You will have a First degree in relevant subject area and/or PGDip. You will also have a Higher degree or PhD in a relevant subject area or willingness to undertake upon appointment. Whilst having an avid interest in evidence based healthcare you will also have experience working with and/or teaching healthcare professionals. You must have a flexible and innovative approach to teaching and learning and be able to work within a team, and individually. You must possess excellent communication and presentation skills and have good planning and team working abilities.
