An opportunity has arisen within the School of Nursing for a registered nurse (Adult) to join our highly committed School of Nursing as a full-time Lecturer on a one-year fixed term contract (maternity cover).

We deliver the Pre-registration Nursing and Trainee Nursing Associate programmes at a number of sites, including Preston, Burnley and Westlakes, both as traditional degree programmes and also as apprenticeships.

The successful applicant will be focussed on delivery of the adult field pre-registration nursing programmes. There will be an expectation that the successful candidates should be able to teach across a range of courses and be a module leader. The successful applicants will be enthusiastic, visionary, and keen to shape nurse education.

Applicants must have 1st Level Nurse on Part one of the Nursing and Midwifery Council register and be educated to at least degree level in a health related subject. A master’s degree and a postgraduate teaching qualification is desirable. Utilising planning and organisational skills, communication and interpersonal skills the successful applicants will be able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Contemporary practice experience is essential, practice supervision and assessment of student nurses in practice is required. You’ll be committed to the success of your pre-registration nursing students and be able to show that you can effectively support learning and teaching in both the classroom and in practice.
