The Research and Enterprise Service (RES) at the University of Central Lancashire is seeking to appoint an individual to work to establish our position in and contribution to the local and regional growth and development. As Head of Regional Business Development you will have an opportunity to play a leadership role in a new RES team of enthusiastic professional services staff in the heart of Lancashire, a location with excellent transport links to major UK cities including Manchester and London.
We are committed to growing the research, innovation and enterprise activity at the University and this in an exciting opportunity to influence and lead that growth with local and regional partnership and collaborations. The primary focus of this role is to work across the University to build strategic relationships internally and externally with appropriate organisations.
We wish to appoint an enthusiastic individual who can play a leadership role in the Service, has relevant stakeholder engagement expertise and can lead our engagement in, and delivery of activities and projects of relevance and importance to local and regional economic growth. Most importantly, we are looking for a team player who are adaptable and passionate about research, innovation and enterprise, building collaborations and opportunities.
The successful candidate will be familiar with government strategy and policies for innovation, place -based activity and levelling up and have experience in translating them to local and regional delivery options. Alongside excellent communication and leadership skills, excellent presentation and data skills are also essential criteria for the post. An ability to negotiate and influence situations is also required. Candidates must also be educated to a degree level or have equivalent professional qualifications/experience in a relevant field of study.
