The University is commencing an exciting new phase of our Estate Strategy, and we are seeking to recruit a proactive and customer-focussed Facilities Manager to join our growing Estates Services team, based at our Summergrove Residence at our Westlakes Campus.
Reporting to the Senior Facilities Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, quality, customer focussed Estates Facilities services. You will be responsible for line management of a team of cleaning supervisor and staff working closely with both University services and contractors as required. You will manage the building environment ensuring services are compliant and meet statutory requirements and procedures relating to legislation. This is a new role at our Westlake Campus and is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your excellent customer service skills developing Building User groups and monitoring satisfaction with the service as well as playing an important role in building and developing the team.
This role will enable you to demonstrate your experience of managing multifunctional services and teams, working in a customer service environment / customer liaison, building and maintaining effective working relationships across service areas. You will have direct line management experience of managing staff and will be able to utilise your knowledge of team building, communications and staff motivation. Candidates will be educated to NVQ level 3 or have the equivalent experiential learning. They will also be IT Literate with familiarity with computer packages such as Microsoft Office.
You will be supported by the wider Preston-based Estates Services team, as well as working with internal staff and contractors in line with business need.
You will be very organised and flexible in your approach to work; having the ability to work both independently and as part of the wider Estates Services team, and able to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
