A full-time vacancy has arisen for a Deputy Security Supervisor to join our Security Service at UCLan’s Westlakes campus in Cumbria. The successful candidate will be required to work a rotating shift pattern of two 12 hour days, two 12 hour nights, followed by four rest days, supporting the Security Senior Management in providing a highly visible and professional service 24/7, 365 days of the year. The posts will be based at Summergrove and Samuel Lindow building, on the Westlakes campus, with flexibility to work on other shifts, or occasionally other campuses if required.
Candidates are expected to have experience of motivating, developing and leading an effective team, with a proven record of providing high levels of customer service. A flexible approach to duties and hours is required with occasional travel to other UCLan campuses. The successful candidate will have the ability to ensure that reports and records are accurately completed and tasks are carried out professionally, fulfilling any necessary follow up actions. The ability to be a clear communicator and able to liaise with internal and external colleagues to share information appropriately are also essential.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a proactive and interactive service with the ability to effectively utilise resources to support the management in providing consistently high standards of service to exceed customer expectation. Candidates must also be able to effectively patrol and respond quickly to incidents in a calm and tactful manner and maintain confidentiality in sometimes demanding situations.
Essential criteria include a valid First Aid Certificate (or show commitment to obtain such), a driving licence (with no more than 3 penalty points and no unspent record of disqualification) and competent literacy and numeracy skills.
