The University is commencing an exciting new phase of our Estate Strategy, and we are seeking to recruit a proactive and customer-focused Catering Assistant to join our growing Estates Services team, based at our Summergrove Residences at our Westlakes Campus.
Reporting to the Catering and Commercial manager you will have experience of working in a busy catering environment and should be able to demonstrate competency in a range of tasks including customer service and food service. You will be a member of a Catering and wider facilities team and who will provide catering to both residential and non-residential students as well as assisting with catering for activities and events. You will undertake a variety of tasks, maintaining the service areas and associated cleaning and providing excellent customer service.
In this role you will be able to utilise your basic food hygiene and health and safety certification which you will have obtained to NVQ Level 1 (or equivalent) in a catering subject. You will have the ability to follow instructions and will work well as part of a team and on your own initiative. You will enjoy being in a demanding role that requires you to be organised and provide a customer focussed service, demonstrating your excellent customer service and interpersonal skills in a busy Catering and food preparation environment.
The role requires flexibility on a 5/7 days over a 36-week basis. Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview.
