Entry Requirements

WEST INDIES / CARRIBEAN (Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Island, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Montserrat, St Kitts/Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands)

UCLan Programme Minimum Entry Qualification Minimum English Language requirements
Undergraduate – Year 0 - 72 tariff points  GCE A levels may be taken and standard entry requirements should be used.
Community College Diploma may be acceptable.
Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE)  Six Caribbean Examination Council, Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) at Grade V (5) or above.
They may be 6 individual units, 3 double units or a combination.
Subjects required for entry should be taken as a double unit.
(The CAPE Diploma is awarded for the successful completion of at least six CAPE units, within a five-year period. CXC Associate Degree is awarded for the successful completion of at least eight CAPE units within a five-year period. Before 2016, seven CAPE units were required to get the CXC Associate Degree.)
Standard English language entry requirements - IELTS 6.0 or equivalent
Caribbean Examinations Council (CSC) English Grade C or above
(GCE O levels may also be taken and are acceptable)
Undergraduate - Year 1 entry
112 tariff points

Masters Successful completion of 3 year bachelor degree from the University of the West Indies (Barbados, Jamaica or Trinidad Tobago campuses), University of Guyana, National University of Technology or any degree that is accredited by Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago or the University Council of Jamaica with 2:2 or above. Standard English language entry requirements - IELTS 6.5 or equivalent
Caribbean Examinations Council (CSC) English Grade C or above

If your academic and/or English language qualifications are not sufficient to allow for direct entry to one of our undergraduate or postgraduate taught programmes, you may wish to consider one of our Undergraduate or Master Foundation Programmes, offered at UCLan by ONCampus. Successful completion of this programme can guarantee entry to a wide range of programmes at UCLan.

The University of Central Lancashire has a wide range of Scholarships and Bursaries available for international students. Below are the criteria for the award of the Merit and Excellence Scholarship.

Excellence Scholarship criteria Six Caribbean Examination Council, Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) at Grade II (2) or above 1st
OR
GPA 3.6

Please note that these scholarships are not available for MBBS programme; distance learning programmes, Pre-Sessional Programmes or Postgraduate Research Programmes.
