Entry requirements

UCLan Programme Minimum Entry Qualification Minimum English Language requirements
Undergraduate – Year 0 entry
72 tariff points
55% overall score
Where a specific subject is required for entry to the degree programme, 60% must be achieved in this subject
Standard English language entry requirements – IELTS 6.0 or equivalent
Undergraduate - Year 1 entry
112 tariff points
70% overall score
Where a specific subject is required for entry to the degree programme, 60% must be achieved in this subject
OR
Successful completion of Year 1 Bachelor Degree from a recognised university with an average grade of 55% or above
Standard English language entry requirements – IELTS 6.0 or equivalent
Masters Bachelor (Hons) degree 55%
MA / MSc / M Com 50%
Standard English language entry requirements - IELTS 6.5 or equivalent

If your academic and/or English language qualifications are not sufficient to allow for direct entry to one of our undergraduate or postgraduate taught programmes, you may wish to consider one of our Undergraduate or Master Foundation Programmes, offered at UCLan by ONCampus. Successful completion of this programme can guarantee entry to a wide range of programmes at UCLan.

The University of Central Lancashire has a wide range of Scholarships and Bursaries available for international students. Below are the criteria for the award of the Merit and Excellence Scholarship.

  Undergraduate Postgraduate Taught
Merit Scholarship criteria 65% or above in HEC 60% or above in bachelor degree
Excellence Scholarship criteria 68% or above in HEC 65% or above in bachelor degree

Please note that these scholarships are not available for MBBS programme; distance learning programmes, Pre-Sessional Programmes or Postgraduate Research Programmes.
