Join us to explore the darker side of travel known as ‘dark tourism’ and Lancashire’s difficult heritage. Tourists have long been fascinated with sites of pain and shame.
Indeed, we have an abundance of dark tourism sites across Lancashire and the North-West of England, and many contemporary tourist experiences now embrace the morbid and the macabre.
Join Phillip Stone, Executive Director of the Institute for Dark Tourism Research, for a journey through the region’s rich and often contested past. Phillip will also shine a light on the complex ethical issues associated with commemorating our significant dead.
