Anti-racist policies and practices in Higher Education

We will explore what the universities in these countries have developed in relation to racial equality, the historical influences and the role of public certification policies (Race Equality Charter Mark- United Kingdom) and affirmative public policies for racial inclusion (Statute of Racial Equality Law 12288/2010 and Racial Quotas Law 12.771/2012- Brazil).

Keynote Speakers:

  • Dr Vantuil Pereira – Professor of the Centre for Public Policy Studies in Human Rights (NEPP-DH), Vice-dean of the Centre of Philosophy and Human Sciences and member of the Coordinating Committee of UFRJ’s Collective of Black Lecturers.
  • David Knight – Senior Lecturer of the School of Art and Media and Member of staff Collective of Racial Equality Network (UCLan).
