We are welcoming abstract submissions for the 2023 British Society of Criminology Conference..
Sustainable futures: remaking criminology in an age of global injustice
We’re looking forward to colleagues coming together to consider some of the most pressing issues facing critical thinkers today. Arguably, there can be none more burning than the impact of climate change.
With the UN 2030 Sustainable goals in mind, the conference offers an opportunity to think about how the discipline should respond. This is to the growing social problems of injustice and social harm under conditions of accelerated change.
We welcome abstract submissions for oral presentations, poster presentations and panels. We would also welcome special events including:
- Visual displays
- Symposia
- Workshops
- Roundtable discussions
Papers could include empirical research findings, those that are more theoretical, ‘works-in-progress’ and those testing out innovative methodological approaches to research.
We are seeking contributions that attend to the emerging social problems of injustice in a time of climate devastation through a global, national or local lens. Contributions might focus on:

250 words.
Panels of up to four speakers
Please submit a 300-word overview and a set of abstracts from the proposed speakers.
Roundtable events
Please submit a 300-word overview and special events a 500-word overview, such as author meets critic.

For the main conference prices are split into BSC members, non members and practitioners.
