We are excited to host the 2023 British Society of Criminology (BSC) Conference here at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston.
Sustainable futures: remaking criminology in an age of global injustice
Postgraduate conference: 27 June
Main conference: 28 - 30 June
Arguably, there can be no more pressing issue facing critical thinkers today, than the impact of climate change and the need for a sustainability agenda.
The theme of this conference brings a criminological focus to these issues, centring injustices and social harm.
Call for papers
We are welcoming abstract submissions for the 2023 conference.

Keynote and panel speakers
Details of keynote and panel speakers at the British Society of Criminology (BSC) Conference. These include:
- Wednesday 28 June: Professor Paul Stretesky and Certain Curtain Company
- Thursday 29 June: Professor Denise Wilson, Dr Raven Bowen, Dr Francesca Esposito, Dr David Scott and Janet Alder (Activist)
- Friday 30 June: Professor Sandra Walklate, Dr Lynne Copson and Dr Biko Agozino
Conference dinner
The British Society of Criminology Conference dinner will take place on Thursday 29 June at the Imperial Banqueting Centre, St Mary’s Street North, Preston. A three course meal will be available for delegates, with halal, vegetarian, meat, and vegan options. Further details regarding the timings for the conference dinner will be sent out to delegates in due course.
