NEBOSH International Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management is based on international standards and best practice. Designed for those people with fire safety responsibilities. The course covers the management of health and safety and in particular fire safety including the legal requirements, the principles of fires and explosion, fire prevention, protection to secure the safety of building occupants. Successful completion of the course will allow student to complete a fire risk assessment in low risk premises.

The NEBOSH International Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management is based on International Standards and Best Practice.  It is made up of three units which must be successfully completed within five years to achieve the NEB0SH International Fire Certificate Qualification:

  • Unit IGC1: Management of International Health and Safety
  • Foundations in Health and Safety
  • Health and Safety Management Systems - Plan
  • Health and Safety Management Systems - Do
  • Health and Safety Management Systems - Check
  • Health and Safety Management Systems - Act

Assessed by a two hour written exam

  • Unit IFC1: Fire Safety and Risk Management
  • Managing Fire Safety
  • Principles of Fire and Explosion
  • Causes and Prevention of Fires and Explosions
  • Fire Protection in Buildings
  • Safety of People in the Event of Fire
  • Fire Safety Risk Assessment

Assessed by a two hour written exam

  • Unit IFC2: Fire Safety Practical Application

Assessed by a two hour work based practical assessment.
