GAD is considered a serious anxiety disorder, whereby individual engage in excessive worry and hold beliefs that worry is uncontrollable and dangerous. Metacognitive Therapy is a NICE recommended treatment that teaches individuals how to deal with their thoughts and behaviours around their worry.

Facilitator - Robin Bailey
Robin Bailey is a Senior Lecturer at UCLan and a qualified CBT therapist. His is a prolific researcher in the area of cognitive and behavioural therapies and has presented at a range of international conferences.
Learning outcome & aims
By the end of the workshops participants will:
- Understand the theory of MCT for GAD.
- Develop a MCT case conceptualisation of GAD.
- Learn techniques for treating GAD.
