Why study this course?

Foundation Entry degree courses are designed for students who have the ability to study for a degree, but don’t have the necessary formal qualifications to enter directly on to their chosen Honours degree programme.

Are you looking for an industry-accredited music production course at the cutting edge of the music industry? UCLan’s Music Production degree is one of only two JAMES-accredited courses with this title in the UK, and will ensure that you develop the skills and knowledge required to work within the dynamic area of music production and technology.

We invite professional musicians, producers and marketing professionals in to speak to all our students so that you develop real contact with working professionals, and you will work on live projects in industry from Year 3.

The skills that you’ll gain will open the doors to careers within the creative industries, such as composing music, sound recording, video production, post-production and sound design for the web and multimedia.

For changes to 2017 UCAS tariff entry requirements please see our important information. UCLan requires all undergraduate applicants to have a minimum attainment of five GCSEs at grade C and above, or equivalent, (including Maths and English). In 2017 and beyond we will view the new Grade 4 as being equivalent to a C grade and will therefore require students to achieve GCSE Grade 4 or above. However, if the subject is relevant to our degree programme and requires a higher GCSE grade (e.g. GCSE B grade), and/or includes a Professional body that governs the entry requirements, Grade 5 or above may be required.
