Appointments information

Consultation with the Doctor is by appointment only and while we will endeavour to give you an appointment with the doctor of your choice, this may not always be possible and your patience and co-operation is appreciated. We also have a small number of pre-bookable appointments. The nurse practitioners’ can treat a wide range of conditions and offer on the day bookable appointments.

We currently have a large volume of patients who do not turn up for their appointments and this is having a significant impact on the waiting times for those needing to book appointments. If you cannot make your appointment, please call us at the earliest opportunity to cancel; otherwise, you will be taking away valuable time for somebody who could urgently need your appointment.

We offer appointments for vaccinations and travel health advice/treatment (see information below).

When you book an appointment the reception team will ask for a brief outline of the problem. This is so they can book you in with the appropriate clinician- strict confidentiality will be maintained. You will not be expected to discuss your problem in-depth, just a keyword such as 'Mental Health' will be sufficient. Repeat prescriptions may also be requested, when appropriate, to save you time (we ask that you please provide 48 hours notice).

Please note that this Practice does not include a dentist or optician.

The University Medical Centre can offer advice and vaccinations for travel. Please contact the practice on 01772 214800 for further information on what we can offer. Vaccinations are by appointment only and should be booked in advance with the Practice Nurse.

Please note there will normally be a charge for travel vaccinations.

Medical forms, for example for Camp America, may only be completed for patients who are registered with the practice, when full medical details are available.

If you require a medical form to be completed, please advise the Receptionist when booking the appointment. It is helpful if you have completed any details as requested on the form prior to your appointment. The form will usually be left with the Doctor to be collected later.

Please note there will normally be a charge for this service.

Call the University Medical Centre on 01772 214800 for appointments.
