About Burnley

As a student at UCLan Burnley you’ll get to enjoy the best of both worlds – a fantastic learning experience together with incredible opportunities to socialise, unwind and embark on the odd adventure in between your studies.

The first thing you’ll be impressed by is the stunning location. Our campus is ideally situated in the beating heart of Pennine Lancashire, surrounded by miles and miles of open countryside and breath-taking views. It’s a landscape which will appeal to anyone with a thirst for exploration and adventure. Looking north, you’ll encounter the imposing grandeur of Pendle Hill, whose history is steeped in centuries of myths and legends. Beyond lie the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Just a few minutes’ walk away from the campus you can venture into vast expanses of scenic parkland which offer the perfect way to escape from it all and unwind. Or get your adrenaline fix – it’s your choice. There are six beautiful Green Flag parks in Burnley. During your free time the opportunities for leisure are endless. Head outdoors to go hiking, cycling, horse riding or enjoy a round of golf. Or take to the water on Thompson Park’s boating lake, where you can go sailing, kayaking or windsurfing. Historic Towneley Park, once the deer park for the 15th century Towneley Hall, is the perfect spot for a quiet picnic or you can sit back and enjoy one of the many live music performances that are held here during the summer months. Football fanatics can experience the thrills of live Premier League action at Burnley FC’s Turf Moor stadium.
