Meet Zarlish

My journey of higher education as a master’s student at UCLan, has proven to be transformative. The way of teaching and how assignments are structured in the UK is completely different from what it used to be in my home country.

In the UK, the academic environment at the master's level encourages independent learning - making students explore and develop ideas through extensive research.

Although it was difficult to adjust to at first, this method encourages the development of critical and analytical thinking skills, which are crucial for tackling assignments and research tasks effectively.

The versatility of the teaching and learning process raises independence, creating a dynamic atmosphere for students to engage in group discussions where ideas are actively shared.

A noteworthy aspect of my academic journey is the blackboard system, an amazing learning platform which isn't used in Pakistan. It provides easy access to guides, books, lectures, and recorded workshops, contributing to a comprehensive learning experience.

The university set deadlines at the beginning of each semester. This forward-thinking approach helps us manage our time effectively, ensuring that we complete assignments with confidence.

Overall, my experience as a master's student at the University of Central Lancashire has been a success, promising continued growth and achievement on my academic journey.
